What Ball Do You Play Based on Court Decision?

Submitted by pkgolfgirl on Sat, 11/22/2008 – 22:05.

Recently Titleist lost a court case to Callaway Golf.  The following is the jist of the case:

“It’s no secret that the Titleist ProV1 is the most popular golf ball ever. What is not widely known is that after Titleist admitted its ProV1 golf balls infringed various Callaway patents, a jury found those patents valid, and a federal court has now ordered Titleist to stop making and selling infringing ProV1 and ProV1x golf balls after January 1, 2009.

What ball do you currently play, and if it’s a Titleist, will you try another brand?

I’ve always been a fan of titleist and despite the court decision… I think I would still stick with them. They are lighter than most golf balls on the market and they tend to be longer off the tee and spin well around the green. It’s hard not to pick them, especially them are used by most top players.

However, I did read some comments about regarding the performances of the newer titleist prov1 ball not being as good as the older model… so go figure!
