October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and in support of this the LPGA members and staff have planned a number of events. The official charity of the LPGA is the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the tour organization helps to raise funds for both education and research.
Friday at the Kapaula LPGA Classic the players will wear pink attire and ribbons to heighten awareness. Paula Creamer has joined with Crystal Light to launch an awareness program in October. Also on Friday October 17 the LPGA will participate in a Passionately Pink for the Cure day in Daytona Beach, FL.
The Future tour will join in this by wearing pink in the first round of the Georgia Initational. Other individual players such as Louise Friberg with a blog and participating in the yearly Race for the Cure in Phoenix and Morgan Pressel with Polo Ralph Lauren presented a cheque to the Boca Raton Community Hospital’s Eugen M. & Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institue.
There are so few of us who are not touched by breast cancer with either ourselves. a family member or a close friend having to battle this desease that we applauded the time and effort these LPGA women give to helping bring us closer to a cure.
